Latest Updates from Our Project:

50% Funded, New Rewards Added
about 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 29, 2020 at 10:24:34 AM

We are over 50% funded! Thank you to all our staunch supporters for helping us reach the first half of our goal. We also have 96 backers. Four more willl unlock the first milestone, a high resolution PDF of Dragons by the Yard issue #1. You've already qualified for Mary Shelley Presents wallpaper.

We are so happy with our progress so far, that we are adding even more rewards. Do you like T-shirts? "T-Shirt Madness" nets you everything in the "More Digital Goodness" reward along with this gorgeous red t-shirt with the Mary Shelley Presents logo on the back for $25.

An interesting side note here concerning the logo, it appears on the gravestone found on the credits page of all four issues of Mary Shelley Presents. The gravestone is from a graveyard in Edinburgh, Scotland that was visited often by J.K. Rowling when she was writing the Harry Potter series. Among the family names on the memorial was one Thomas Riddle, soon to be immortalized as the one who shall not be named. You can see it here. There’s also a $30 reward where you get the Horror along with the shirt. Check these out  on our Kickstarter page and be sure to watch for more new rewards as we have a few exciting ones we're posting tomorrow.

Please continue to spread the word about our great rewards through your social media. It really does make a difference.

In the meantime, here are more worthy Kickstarters:

DreamForge Magazine

DreamForge is a beautifully illustrated PRINT and online magazine of science fiction and fantasy started in 2019, telling the stories that everyone else has forgotten about.

“At DreamForge Magazine, we believe the human adventure is just beginning, and that the greatest moments in human history lie ahead of us, awaiting our determined and hopeful advance.”

I am a subscriber, and I guarantee you, you won’t be disappointed. They don’t do horror, but it's solid fantasy and science fiction. Check it out here.

Up from the Skies

Check this one out today as they have only a week left of their campaign. Up from the Skies is a  trippy, dreamy survival tale and interstellar bromance between a spacefaring prince and the ice-age hunter who rescues him.

As he works to keep the alien visitor alive, the hunter begins to realize that there is something exceptional about their time together, something sung about by his clan’s wise man, but something that still remains ... incomplete.

Facing brutish predators and sly, plotting wolves, their bond grows stronger - but how can it last when their destinies are surely so different?

Look at this cover! Hurry over and support these guys before the campaign ends. Click here to see their pitch.

Great news in the Kickstarter world today!

Kickstarter Employees Win Historic Union Election

When we decided to run our Kickstarter, we had qualms about supporting the company, what with all the drama over firing employees who were working to bring in the union. So the fact that the employees have finally been able to unionize has finally quelled our qualms. So celebrate on social media. Let people know that there’s a union for tech workers at Kickstarter now and all the workers can choose (or not) to embrace the benefits of collective bargaining.

In the meantime, we have two Kickstarters we’d love to tell you about.  These are the in Kymera Press “We Love This” pile.

Nocturnal Commissions – A Macabre Monster Mystery

Are you being trolled by ghouls, pestered by the paranormal or attempting to file taxes after being resurrected? Nocturnal Commissions is the only agency with the expertise to help. A Wolfman, Vampire and a Zombie are ready to solve your supernatural concerns for a very reasonable rate (plus expenses).

Wait in till you see the artwork on Nocturnal Commissions!  This is a Kickstarter that deserves backing. So click on the image above (or here) to back this project.

Our second recommendation is for:

The Age of Adventure: Book One of the Weaving Worlds

I saw the dragon with three eyes on their campaign page and I was hooked.

This is a fairy tale story filled with magic, romance, humor, and a bunch of colorful and eccentric characters. If you like movies like Willow or The Princess Bride, you will probably like this book a lot. So click on the image above (or here) to back this project.

Can we tempt you?
about 4 years ago – Sun, Feb 23, 2020 at 07:04:44 AM

We’re nearly at the 50% mark!
about 4 years ago – Tue, Feb 18, 2020 at 04:06:45 AM

We’re nearly at the 50% mark with 85 backers. Maybe we’ll wake up tomorrow to a glorious morning having blown right through it. Fifteen more backers with a $12 (or more) pledge would unlock our first milestone, a high resolution PDF of the first issue of Dragons by the Yard, and put us at that magical 50% point.

We’re very thankful for the support were receiving but we can’t help noticing that there are over a hundred potential backers following us that haven’t pledged. Become a backer now and help us unlock that Dragons milestone.

I have some great Kickstarter projects to tell you about. In honor of Women in Horror Month, we’ll start with the women creators.

Madeleine Holly-Rosing has three days left on her BOSTON METAPHYSICAL SOCIETY GHOST AND DEMONS Kickstarter.

In this Boston Metaphysical Society story, Caitlin and Alma have continued Mary and Frida’s work as union organizers, but when Caitlin has a disturbing dream about her childhood friend, Duncan the ghost, she decides to return to Boston to find out what’s wrong. Though it is a happy reunion with Samuel and Granville, something much more sinister awaits her and the team.

You have three days left to get some great rewards and awesome stretch goal awards including some wonderful custom chocolates!

Christie Shinn is the creator of the Demon Bith series. Now she running a Kickstarter for DEMON BITCH: OFF THE WAGON PANHANDLING TOUR.

Demon Bitch is foul, offensive, and funny. Christie has a knack for turning the crappy things in her life into something constructive. In this case, possible death. It’s the kind of comic you want to read when you are really mad and just want to read something by someone angrier than you are!

Our next update will featuring two more stellar Kickstarter projects I found.  All of us need your help, whether through backing us or spreading the word through your social media.  Again, thanks to you all!

Adding some milestone incentives...
about 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 15, 2020 at 09:31:57 PM

We're adding a couple of milestone incentives! When we get 100 backers, everyone with a pledge of more than $10 will receive a copy of Dragons by the Yard issue one when we fund. When we hit 200 backers we'll upgrade that from just issue one of Dragons by the Yard to both issues one and two. Dragons is about Anna, a young woman who sells her stuffed dragons at the Rose Bowl swap meet in Pasadena. When she makes a trade for some mystical fabric from a mysterious woman, she gets drawn into the reproductive strategy of a line of ancient dragons. Who knew sewing was required?
